Eugenia Le Sommer is a French former professional footballer who played as a forward for the French national team. Born on May 26, 1958, in Saint-Malo, France, Le Sommer began her youth career at the age of 11 with the local club, Saint-Malo. She quickly rose through the ranks, making her professional debut at 17 for the French club, FCF Hénin-Beaumont. Throughout her illustrious career, Le Sommer won numerous accolades, including the 1984 European Championship, where she scored five goals in the tournament. She also won the 1985 and 1987 European Cups, and was a key player in the French team that finished third in the 1986 World Cup. Le Sommer's impressive goal-scoring record earned her the nickname "La Reine" (The Queen), and she remains one of the most successful and celebrated female footballers in French history.
