Alessandro Costacurta is a former Italian professional footballer who played as a defender for the Italian national team and various clubs throughout his career. Born on April 24, 1967, in Segrate, Italy, Costacurta began his youth career with AC Milan's youth academy before making his professional debut for the club in 1987. He went on to spend 15 seasons with AC Milan, winning numerous titles including five Serie A championships, one UEFA Champions League, and three UEFA Super Cups. Throughout his career, Costacurta was known for his exceptional defensive skills, leadership, and versatility, playing in various positions including center-back, right-back, and defensive midfielder. He earned 59 caps for the Italian national team, participating in two World Cups and three European Championships, and was a key player in Italy's 2000 European Championship-winning team. After retiring from professional football in 2007, Costacurta went on to become a successful businessman and entrepreneur, and was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
