Alfred Page Lane was born on September 26, 1891, in New York. He began his shooting career at the Manhattan Rifle and Revolver Association, quickly gaining recognition as a talented marksman. By the age of 19, Lane had already won several U.S. Revolver Association (USRA) championships, earning him the nickname "The Boy Wonder" and "Pistol Wizard" for his exceptional skills[1][2][3]. Lane competed in the 1912 and 1920 Summer Olympics, winning five gold medals and one bronze medal. He worked with Remington Arms and later became the head of the photographic department for a magazine publisher. His achievements led to his induction into the United States International Shooters Hall of Fame in 1991. Lane passed away on October 2, 1965, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most accomplished shooters in Olympic history[1][2][3].
