Founded on January 16, 2024, it emerged from the relocation of Alianza Petrolera, which was previously based in Barrancabermeja. The club plays its home games at the Estadio Armando Maestre Pavajeau, with a capacity of 11,000 spectators. Alianza FC was established after Alianza Petrolera faced financial challenges and relocated to Valledupar, where it received financial support from local authorities and private enterprises. As a new entity in Colombian football, Alianza Valledupar FC has quickly become a part of the Categoría Primera A, participating in significant competitions like the Copa Sudamericana.
