All Nippon Airways All Nippon Airways (ANA) is Japan's largest airline, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo. Founded on December 27, 1952, as Japan Helicopter and Aeroplane, ANA has grown significantly over the years. It operates both domestic and international flights, serving over 92 destinations. ANA is a member of the Star Alliance, joining in October 1999. The airline controls several subsidiaries, including ANA Wings, Air Nippon, and Air Do, a low-cost carrier.
