Barafundle Bay
LocationAbout
Barafundle Bay is a picturesque, remote beach located on the south coast of Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is nestled between the cliffs near Stackpole and is renowned for its golden sands and crystal-clear waters, often likened to those found in the Caribbean. The beach is part of the Stackpole Estate, managed by the National Trust, and is accessible only via the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, with the nearest car park at Stackpole Quay. The beach offers a serene and sheltered environment, making it ideal for picnics and relaxation. It is framed by grass-topped sand dunes and gorse-covered headlands, providing stunning views from the coastal path. Although there are no facilities at the beach itself, nearby Stackpole Quay offers toilets and a café. Barafundle Bay is dog-friendly year-round and is a popular spot for walkers and nature lovers. Its remote location and lack of accessibility for wheelchairs or pushchairs add to its tranquil charm.
