Bernie's Burger Bus was a popular restaurant in Houston known for its gourmet burgers. It originated as a food truck before expanding into multiple brick-and-mortar locations. The restaurant was famous for its all-natural, made-from-scratch meals, including hand-ground burgers and homemade condiments. The menu featured burgers with school-themed names like "The Principal" and "The Substitute," offering a variety of toppings and flavors. The restaurant was also noted for its nostalgic schoolhouse theme, complete with a giant yellow school bus at its Bellaire location. Despite its popularity, Bernie's Burger Bus closed all its locations in 2020 due to financial challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The owner, Chef Justin Turner, has since ventured into other culinary projects, including a coffee shop called Lupo Caffe in the Generation Park development.
