The BME International 24-hour Programming Contest, also known as Challenge24, is a unique global competition organized by the Electrical Engineering Students' Hungarian Association. It offers young, talented programmers the opportunity to showcase their skills and compare themselves with teams from around the world. Teams of three participants from any country can apply, with the top 30 teams, including the previous year's top three, invited to Budapest for the final round. This event challenges teams to complete a complex task within 24 hours, requiring diverse IT skills such as networking, computer graphics, and algorithm theory. Participants are allowed to use their own computers and work in their preferred environment, with no restrictions on operating systems or development tools. The contest emphasizes teamwork and fast, precise coding. Awards include the Challenge24 Cup and a total prize pool of 6000 Euros. The contest attracts participants from over 56 countries across five continents, making it a prestigious event in Europe. The final round takes place at the University of Technology and Economics in Budapest, fostering a competitive yet collaborative atmosphere among participants.
