Burj Khalifa
LandmarkAbout
The Burj Khalifa, standing at 828 meters, is the world's tallest building, located in Dubai. It was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and completed in 2010. The tower's Y-shaped floor plan maximizes views of the Arabian Gulf while minimizing wind forces. Its design combines local cultural influences with cutting-edge technology, reflecting both Islamic architecture and the geometry of a regional desert flower. The Burj Khalifa contains offices, residential units, and the Armani Hotel. It features multiple observation decks, including At the Top on the 124th and 125th floors and the Burj Khalifa Lounge on the 152nd to 154th floors. The building's high-performance glass façade provides thermal and solar protection, enhancing energy efficiency. Its construction involved innovative engineering solutions, including a buttressed core system and extensive wind tunnel testing to ensure stability in Dubai's desert climate.
