
Cammi Granato

Catherine "Cammi" Granato is a pioneering American ice hockey player born on March 25, 1971, in Downers Grove, Illinois. She grew up in a family of hockey enthusiasts, with her father playing amateur hockey and her brothers, including Tony and Don, involved in professional leagues. Granato began playing hockey at age five and played on boys' teams until high school. She later attended Providence College, where she established herself as a talented player, earning ECAC Player of the Year honors multiple times. Granato's international career was marked by significant achievements. She captained the U.S. women's hockey team to a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics and a silver medal in 2002. She is the U.S. women's national team's all-time leading scorer with 343 points. Granato was the first woman inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010. She has also been recognized with the Lester Patrick Award and inducted into the IIHF and U.S. Hockey Halls of Fame. Currently, Granato serves as an assistant general manager for the Vancouver Canucks.
