About

Festival Ching Ming is a significant traditional Chinese holiday celebrated annually on the 15th day after the Spring Equinox. This ancient festival is also known as Tomb Sweeping Day, and it is a time for people to pay respects to their ancestors and loved ones who have passed away. The origins of Ching Ming date back to the Han Dynasty, when it was a day for people to sweep and clean their ancestors' graves, as well as offer food, incense, and other offerings to ensure their spirits' peace and prosperity. Today, Festival Ching Ming is a joyous occasion marked by elaborate rituals and ceremonies. Families gather at their ancestors' graves, bringing with them traditional offerings such as joss sticks, paper money, and fruit. They clean and decorate the graves, and then hold feasts and share stories about their ancestors' lives. Many people also participate in traditional activities, such as flying kites, playing games, and enjoying traditional Chinese food. As a symbol of respect and gratitude, people also plant trees and flowers at the gravesites, ensuring that their ancestors' memories continue to flourish.
