Chris Pratt is an American actor born on June 21, 1979, in Virginia, Minnesota. He grew up in Lake Stevens, Washington, where he developed an interest in acting through high school plays. Pratt's journey to stardom was unconventional; he briefly attended community college, lived in Maui, Hawaii, and worked as a waiter before being discovered by actress Rae Dawn Chong. She cast him in her short film Cursed Part 3 (2000), which marked the beginning of his acting career.
