Clone Robotics Protoclone

Robot

About

Clone Robotics' Protoclone is a pioneering musculoskeletal android designed to mimic human anatomy and movement. It features over 1,000 Myofibers, which are synthetic muscles that contract under pressure, and more than 200 degrees of freedom, allowing for highly articulated movements. The robot is built with 3D-printed polymer bones and includes a network of sensors to monitor and control its actions. The Protoclone's design aims to replicate human-like movement, using a hydraulic/pneumatic system to achieve lifelike joint articulation. The Protoclone is currently powered by pneumatics but is set to transition to hydraulics in future iterations. It includes synthetic organ systems for skeletal, muscular, vascular, and nervous functions. The robot's cooling system simulates human sweating, enhancing its lifelike performance. Clone Robotics plans to release a limited edition of 279 Alpha androids in 2025, positioning the Protoclone as a breakthrough in commercial robotics aimed at solving everyday challenges. The robot's faceless design helps avoid the "uncanny valley" while simplifying sensor placement.
