Cooper, also known as the Cooper Car Company, was a British constructor and manufacturer in Formula 1. Founded by Charles Cooper and his son John Cooper in 1947, the team made its first entry into the Monaco Grand Prix in 1950. Cooper achieved significant early success, pioneering the rear-engined car design that would become the standard for future F1 winners. Their breakthrough came with their first win at the 1958 Argentine Grand Prix. Cooper's most notable achievements include winning two consecutive Constructors' Championships in 1959 and 1960, with Australian driver Jack Brabham securing the Drivers' titles in both years. The team's success was marked by innovative engineering and a strong partnership with Climax engines. Cooper's legacy in F1 is profound, as they were the first to win a world championship with a rear-engined car, setting a precedent for future racing designs. Despite disbanding in 1969, Cooper remains an important part of F1 history.
