Corbin Local Wildlife Park
LocationAbout
Corbin Local Wildlife Park is situated in the picturesque landscape of Tobago, surrounded by gentle hills and valleys overlooking the sea at Hope Bay. Spanning 20 acres of beautiful forest, the park is a haven for native wildlife, featuring abundant fruit trees and flowers like plantain, sugarcane, mango trees, and wild heliconia. The park attracts a variety of wildlife, including wild caiman, agoutis, and numerous bird species such as hummingbirds, manakins, herons, mot-mots, and jacamars. The park serves as a sanctuary for rescued and endangered species, providing a protected environment for breeding and rehabilitation. Established by Roy Corbin, a former hunter turned conservationist, the park aims to promote sustainable land management and biodiversity conservation. Guided tours offer visitors a chance to experience Tobago's diverse wildlife firsthand, while supporting conservation efforts. The park's mission includes captive breeding programs for threatened species, such as the tatoo armadillo, with a focus on eventual release into protected areas.
