Moxi is a mobile robot developed by Diligent Robotics to assist hospitals by automating non-patient-facing tasks. Equipped with an arm, gripper hand, and mobile base, Moxi can transport lightweight medical resources, navigate through doors and hallways, and deliver items to staff. It helps alleviate repetitive tasks that nurses often perform, allowing them to focus more on patient care. Moxi's design includes social intelligence features, such as a face that communicates intentions, fostering positive interactions with patients and staff. Moxi integrates into existing healthcare workflows, performing tasks like delivering lab samples, fetching supplies, and distributing PPE. Its autonomy is enhanced by "humans in the loop" development, enabling it to operate elevators independently. Moxi has achieved significant milestones, including over 110,000 autonomous elevator rides. By automating routine tasks, Moxi improves operational efficiency and supports clinical staff, helping reduce nurse turnover rates and increase time spent on patient care.
