The Dingwall Combustion is a versatile bass guitar known for its exceptional playability and sound quality. It features a body made from swamp ash, often complemented by a quilted maple top, providing a lightweight and balanced design. The neck is constructed from a five-piece maple, bolted onto the body, and includes a maple or Pau Ferro fingerboard. The bass is available in various configurations, including 4, 5, and 6 strings, catering to different musical preferences. The Combustion incorporates Dingwall's FD-3N pickups with neodymium magnets, offering high output and a smooth yet aggressive tone. These pickups are paired with an EMG 3-band preamp and a 4-position Quad-tone pickup selector, allowing for diverse tonal options. The bass includes an active/passive toggle switch for further versatility. Its fanned fret system ensures optimal scale length and intonation for each string, enhancing clarity and consistency across the fretboard. This design makes the Combustion suitable for both stage and studio performances.
