About

The Dino 206 and 246 GT are iconic sports cars produced by Ferrari under the Dino marque from 1967 to 1974. These vehicles were named in honor of Enzo Ferrari's son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, who played a significant role in the development of the V6 engine. The Dino 206 GT, with its lightweight aluminum body, was the first Ferrari road car to feature a mid-engine layout, showcasing a 2.0-liter V6 engine producing 180 horsepower. It was designed by Pininfarina, featuring soft edges and curving lines typical of Italian cars from that era. The Dino 246 GT, introduced later, adopted a steel body and a larger 2.4-liter V6 engine, producing 195 horsepower. It was praised for its performance and handling, with a top speed of approximately 238 kph. The 246 GT became the first Ferrari to be mass-produced, with over 3,500 units sold during its production run. Both models are celebrated for their timeless design and innovative engineering, marking a significant departure from Ferrari's traditional V12 lineup. The Dino series remains a cherished part of automotive history, symbolizing elegance and performance.
