About

Estadio Benito Villamarín, located in Seville, Spain, is a historic sports venue inaugurated in 1929. It serves as the home stadium for Real Betis Balompié. Initially built for the Ibero-American Exposition, the stadium hosted its first match on March 17, 1929, an international game between Spain and Portugal. Over the years, it has undergone several renovations, including significant expansions in the 1970s for the 1982 FIFA World Cup and in 2016-2017 to increase its capacity. Today, Estadio Benito Villamarín has a seating capacity of 60,721, making it one of the largest stadiums in Spain. The venue has previously been known by other names, such as Estadio de Heliópolis and Estadio Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, before reverting to its current name in 2010. The stadium offers guided tours, allowing visitors to explore its facilities, including the press room and trophy room. Its proximity to Seville's city center and vibrant atmosphere during matches make it a notable destination for football enthusiasts.
