Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán
Sports venueAbout
Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, inaugurated on September 7, 1958, is the home stadium of Sevilla FC. It was built to replace the old Estadio de Nervión, which had become too small for the club's ambitions. The stadium's construction was a response to the new demands of football, providing the necessary amenities and capacity. Initially, it lacked a second tier at both ends, but these were completed by 1975, increasing its capacity to 70,000 spectators. Over the years, the stadium has undergone several renovations. Notably, it hosted matches during the 1982 World Cup and the 1986 European Cup final. In the 1990s, it was converted into an all-seater, reducing its capacity. Recent renovations have included aesthetic updates and modernizations. The stadium is located in the Nervión district of Seville and is known for its rich football history and the passionate support of Sevilla FC fans. It continues to be an important venue for both domestic and international football events.
