Eurowings is a German low-cost carrier and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, headquartered in Düsseldorf. Founded in 1990 through the merger of Nürnberger Flugdienst and Reise- und Industrieflug, it began operations in 1994. Initially focused on regional flights, Eurowings transformed into a low-cost carrier in 2014.
