Nicknamed "Lo sceriffo" (The sheriff), Moser began his professional career in 1973 and quickly became one of the dominant figures in cycling from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. He is celebrated for his powerful build and cultured pedaling style, although his climbing abilities were limited. Moser's achievements include winning the Giro d'Italia in 1984 and the 1977 World Championship road race. Moser's impressive career also includes multiple victories in classic races such as Paris-Roubaix, Milan-San Remo, and the Giro di Lombardia. In 1984, he broke Eddy Merckx's twelve-year-old hour record, achieving a distance of 51.151 kilometers. After retiring from professional cycling, Moser pursued various ventures, including viticulture and bicycle manufacturing.
