Fuji Rock Festival

Music festival

About

Fuji Rock Festival is Japan's largest outdoor music event, held annually at Naeba Ski Resort in Niigata Prefecture. Established in 1997, it initially took place at the foot of Mount Fuji, but since 1999, it has been hosted in Naeba. The festival spans three days, typically in late July, and features over 200 artists from diverse genres, including rock, pop, electronic, and more. This eclectic lineup attracts a vast audience of over 100,000 attendees each year. The festival grounds cover a significant area with multiple stages, including the main Green Stage and the indoor Red Marquee. Activities extend beyond music, with yoga sessions, movie screenings, and family-friendly areas. The event emphasizes environmental sustainability through recycling initiatives. Naeba's natural beauty and the festival's lively atmosphere make it a unique experience. Accommodations range from camping to nearby hotels, with convenient access via the Joetsu Shinkansen and shuttle buses.
