His first recording was with the Mario Ortiz Orchestra in 1976, followed by stints with La Grande Orchestra and other notable groups like the Willie Rosario Orchestra. Santa Rosa's unique style blends tropical and romantic salsa, showcasing his exceptional improvisational skills. Santa Rosa has achieved significant milestones, including becoming the first tropical salsa singer to perform at Carnegie Hall. He is a six-time Grammy Award winner and has sold over three million records. His contributions extend beyond music; he has supported educational initiatives in Puerto Rico and participated in charity projects, such as Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Almost Like Praying" for hurricane relief.
