Gin Rummy

Card game

About

Gin Rummy is a popular two-player card game derived from Rummy, known for its simplicity and strategic depth. It is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, without jokers. The objective is to score points by forming sets and runs. A set consists of three or four cards of the same rank, while a run is a sequence of three or more cards of the same suit in consecutive order. Players draw cards from either the stock pile or the discard pile and discard one card per turn. The game ends when a player "goes gin" by forming sets and runs with all ten cards in their hand, or "knocks" when their unmatched cards total ten points or less. In both cases, players reveal their hands, and points are scored based on unmatched cards. Face cards are worth ten points, aces are worth one, and other cards are valued by their number. The game continues until one player reaches 100 points or more, with bonuses awarded for winning hands and the overall game.
