Gustavo Cerati was a renowned Argentine musician, singer-songwriter, and record producer. Born on August 11, 1959, in Buenos Aires, he is best known as the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the influential rock band Soda Stereo. With Soda Stereo, Cerati achieved international success, contributing significantly to the Latin rock movement. His musical influences included The Beatles, The Police, and progressive rock bands like King Crimson and Led Zeppelin. Cerati's solo career was marked by experimentation with electronic music, evident in albums like Bocanada and Siempre es hoy. He released Ahí vamos in 2006, returning to rock. Cerati collaborated with numerous artists, including Charly García and Shakira. He won several awards, including Latin Grammys. After a stroke in 2010, Cerati remained in a coma until his death on September 4, 2014. His legacy continues to inspire musicians across Latin America.
