Lee Ji-eun, known professionally as IU, is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress born on May 16, 1993. She began her career in 2007 as a trainee with LOEN Entertainment (now Kakao Entertainment) and debuted at the age of fifteen with her EP Lost and Found in 2008. IU's rise to fame accelerated with the release of "Good Day" from her 2010 album Real, which topped South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart for five consecutive weeks. This success was followed by her albums Real+ and Last Fantasy in 2011, cementing her status as a prominent figure in Korean music. IU has expanded her career into acting, appearing in notable dramas like Dream High, My Mister, and Hotel Del Luna. Her role in My Mister earned her a Best Actress nomination at the Baeksang Arts Awards.
