Jeff Feuerzeig is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for his documentaries The Devil and Daniel Johnston and Author: The JT LeRoy Story. Born in 1964, Feuerzeig grew up influenced by the punk rock scene and its DIY ethos, which shaped his approach to filmmaking. He graduated from Trenton State College and later studied at New York University's Intensive Filmmaking Program. Feuerzeig's career spans directing commercials for major brands and creating documentaries that explore the lives of eccentric figures. The Devil and Daniel Johnston won the Directing prize for Documentary at Sundance in 2005, while Author: The JT LeRoy Story premiered at Sundance in 2016. He has also directed episodes for HBO's Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus and the ESPN "30 for 30" series.
