Born on April 12, 1980, in Ontinyent, Valencia, Spain, Ferrero began playing tennis at the age of five and quickly rose through the junior ranks, winning several national and international titles. He turned professional in 1998 and made his Grand Slam debut at the 1999 French Open, where he reached the quarterfinals. Throughout his career, Ferrero achieved numerous milestones, including winning the 2003 French Open, becoming the first Spanish man to win a Grand Slam singles title since 1967. He also reached the semifinals of the 2000 US Open and the quarterfinals of the 2002 Australian Open.
