Juan Gris

Juan Gris was a Spanish artist who played a crucial role in the development of Cubism, a revolutionary art movement that transformed the way artists depicted reality. Born in Madrid in 1887, Gris was initially influenced by the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements, but his work soon took a radical turn towards abstraction and geometric forms.
