Juan Moliner Juan Moliner is the co-founder and CEO of Invopop, a startup dedicated to simplifying global e-invoicing and sales tax compliance for technology companies. Prior to founding Invopop, Juan worked as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he encountered firsthand the complexities and inefficiencies of invoice compliance in Latin America, particularly during a project with a multinational company in Mexico. This experience revealed the increasing difficulty businesses face as countries worldwide mandate real-time electronic invoicing for tax reporting. Motivated by these challenges, Juan partnered with Sam Lown—former CTO of Cabify—to create Invopop in 2020. Their goal was to build modern infrastructure that enables software companies such as SumUp, Fever, and DeepL to issue and receive invoices globally while complying with diverse local tax regulations through an easy-to-integrate API. Under Juan’s leadership, Invopop has rapidly grown by addressing an urgent market need driven by evolving global regulations on digital invoicing. The company supports tens of thousands of businesses issuing hundreds of thousands of compliant invoices monthly across countries including Colombia, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Italy, and Peru. Their usage-based pricing model ranges from €0.005 to €0.30 per invoice depending on volume. Backed by prominent investors like Jeff Epstein (former CEO of Oracle) and founders from Cabify among others, Invopop combines deep consulting insight with technical innovation aimed at transforming cross-border business operations through seamless invoicing solutions. Based in Madrid with a lean team focused on scalability via Y Combinator support since Winter 2023, Juan continues driving growth while expanding into new markets amid rising mandates for real-time sales tax reporting worldwide.
