Kaia Gerber's Book Club

Book club

About

Kaia Gerber's Book Club, Library Science, is an initiative co-founded by Gerber and Alyssa Reeder. Launched in its current form in 2024, the club aims to foster a love of reading among young people by highlighting diverse and often overlooked literary voices. It encourages discussions on a wide range of topics, including race, sex, loss, consent, motherhood, and climate change, among others. The club's selections span various genres, such as debut fiction, short stories, translations, essays, memoirs, plays, and poetry. Library Science offers a platform for readers to engage with books that may not typically appear on bestseller lists, promoting underrepresented stories and authors. Through video interviews with authors and online discussions, Gerber and Reeder create a community that values inclusivity and diverse perspectives. The club's mission is to inspire young readers by introducing them to new voices and challenging narratives, thereby enriching their understanding of the world through literature.
