Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. on April 16, 1947, is a legendary American basketball player. He stands at 7 ft 2 in. and played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Abdul-Jabbar won six NBA championships and six MVP awards, showcasing his dominance with his iconic skyhook shot. He led UCLA to three NCAA championships and was named Most Outstanding Player each time. Abdul-Jabbar's career spanned 20 seasons, during which he became the NBA's all-time leading scorer until surpassed by LeBron James in 2023. He was a 19-time NBA All-Star and 15-time All-NBA Team member. Known for his agility and disciplined training, Abdul-Jabbar combined athleticism with a deep understanding of the game. He is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
