About

Kruger National Park is South Africa's largest game reserve, spanning nearly 2 million hectares of unfenced African wilderness. Located in the northeastern part of South Africa, it stretches across the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The park is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, and buffaloes. With over 147 mammal species, 500 bird species, and 116 reptile species, Kruger offers an unparalleled wildlife experience. The park's terrain is generally flat with low hills, featuring a mix of grasslands, thornveld, and woodlands. More than 300 tree species are found here, including baobabs and marulas. Kruger is part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, which also includes Mozambique's Limpopo Park and Zimbabwe's Gonarezhou National Park. The park's headquarters are at Skukuza, offering various accommodations and a network of over 5,000 miles of roads for exploration. Archaeological sites like Thulamela add historical depth to this vast wildlife sanctuary.
