About

The Laver Cup is an annual international men's tennis tournament that pits six top players from Europe against six from the rest of the world. It is played over three days, typically two weeks after the US Open, in rotating locations between European and global cities. The event features a unique format, with each match win valued differently: one point on Friday, two on Saturday, and three on Sunday. The first team to reach 13 points wins the tournament. If the score is tied at 12-12, a final doubles match, known as "The Decider," determines the winner. Led by legendary captains, the Laver Cup combines competitive tennis with a fun, team-oriented atmosphere. Players are selected based on ATP rankings and captain's picks. The tournament does not contribute to ATP rankings but offers significant prize money. It is an officially sanctioned ATP Tour event, attracting global attention with its fast-paced format and innovative presentation. The 2025 edition will be held in San Francisco, with Yannick Noah and Andre Agassi serving as captains for Team Europe and Team World, respectively.
