The Lightning LS-218 is the world's fastest production electric motorcycle, boasting a top speed of 218 mph. It features a liquid-cooled Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) electric motor, delivering a peak power of 244 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. The motorcycle uses a direct single-speed drive system, ensuring efficient power delivery. Its frame is made of full aluminum with optional carbon fiber components, providing a strong yet lightweight structure. The LS-218 offers multiple battery pack options, including a standard 15 kWh pack for a range of 188 miles and a larger 20 kWh pack for up to 255 miles. Additionally, Lightning provides a 28 kWh battery pack with its Lightning-Fast Charge System (LFCS), allowing for rapid charging and a range of 335 miles. The motorcycle's advanced suspension system includes Öhlins components for superior handling. Its braking system features dual Brembo disc brakes, ensuring reliable stopping power.
