
Louise Burke

Louise Burke is a renowned Australian sports dietitian and researcher with nearly 40 years of experience in educating and counseling elite athletes. She served as the Head of Sports Nutrition at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) from 1990 to 2018 and later became the Chief of AIS Nutrition Strategy. Burke was the team dietitian for the Australian Olympic teams from 1996 to 2012, participating in five consecutive Summer Olympic Games. Burke holds significant academic positions, including a Chair in Sports Nutrition at the Mary MacKillop Institute of Health Research, Australian Catholic University. She has authored over 300 peer-reviewed papers and several textbooks on sports nutrition. Burke is an editor of the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism and a Director of the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition. She was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2009 for her contributions to sports nutrition.
