
Marian Vajda

Marian Vajda is a Slovak professional tennis coach and former player, born on March 24, 1965, in Považská Bystrica, Czechoslovakia. As a player, he achieved a career-high singles ranking of #34 in 1987 and won two ATP singles titles. Vajda competed in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and reached the third round of the 1991 French Open. He also captained Slovakia's Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams. Vajda is most renowned for his coaching career, particularly his long-term partnership with Novak Djokovic from 2006 to 2017 and again from 2018 to 2022. Under his guidance, Djokovic won numerous titles, including 20 Grand Slam championships. Vajda has received several coaching awards, including the ATP Coach of the Year in 2018. He has also coached other notable players like Karol Kučera and Alex Molčan.
