Marilynne Robinson is a celebrated American novelist and essayist, born on November 26, 1943, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her literary career spans numerous acclaimed works, including the novels Housekeeping (1980), Gilead (2004), Home (2008), Lila (2014), and Jack (2020). Gilead earned her the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2005, while Home received the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2009. Robinson's nonfiction works include Mother Country (1989), The Death of Adam (1998), and What Are We Doing Here? (2018).
