Berasategui's journey into the culinary world began at the age of 14, working in his family's restaurant, Bodegón Alejandro. At 17, he trained as a pastry chef in France, further refining his skills. By 20, he took over his family's restaurant and earned his first Michelin star by 25. Berasategui opened his eponymous restaurant in Lasarte-Oria in 1993, which was awarded three Michelin stars in 2001. He holds a total of 12 Michelin stars across his establishments, including Restaurante Lasarte in Barcelona and MB in Tenerife. His culinary empire spans multiple locations, showcasing his dedication to Basque cuisine and teamwork.
