OrganizationAbout
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), or Doctors Without Borders, is an international humanitarian organization founded in 1971 by a group of doctors and journalists. It was established in response to the war and famine in Biafra, Nigeria, with the goal of providing emergency medical aid quickly, effectively, and impartially. MSF operates on the principle that medical needs transcend national borders and that all people should have access to healthcare regardless of their background. MSF delivers medical humanitarian aid to those affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters, and healthcare exclusion. It works in over 70 countries, offering a range of services including basic healthcare, surgery, and management of hospitals and clinics. MSF also conducts field research and provides psychological support. Known for its independence and vocal stance against injustice, MSF has become a leading voice in humanitarian crises worldwide.
