Melissa Anne Rosenberg is a renowned American television writer, producer, and screenwriter born on August 28, 1962, in Marin County, California. Initially interested in dance, she studied at Bennington College before shifting her focus to film and television at the University of Southern California. Rosenberg's career in television began with shows like "Class of '96" and "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," progressing to significant roles in "The O.C." and "Dexter," where she served as head writer and executive producer. Rosenberg is also celebrated for her work on the "Twilight" film series and her creation of the Netflix series "Jessica Jones," a Marvel adaptation. She has been nominated for two Emmy Awards and two Writers Guild of America Awards, winning a Peabody Award. Rosenberg supports female screenwriters through her involvement in the WGA Diversity Committee and co-founded the League of Hollywood Women Writers. She is married to television director Lev L.
