Motörhead
MusicianAbout
Motorhead, a British rock band, was formed in 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Lemmy Kilmister, guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke, and drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor. The band's name was inspired by the song "Motorhead" by the British rock band Hawkwind, which Lemmy played with before forming Motorhead. The band's music was a unique blend of heavy metal, punk, and rock 'n' roll, characterized by their fast-paced rhythms, aggressive vocals, and iconic lyrics. Motorhead's music was often described as raw, energetic, and unapologetic, with a strong emphasis on the band's live performances. The band's debut album, "Motorhead," was released in 1977 and was followed by a string of successful albums, including "Overkill," "Bomber," and "Ace of Spades." Motorhead's music influenced a wide range of bands, including Metallica, Guns N' Roses, and Slayer, and the band's live shows were often described as intense and chaotic. Despite Lemmy's passing in 2015, Motorhead's music and legacy continue to be celebrated by fans around the world.
