Nest Secure is a comprehensive smart home security system designed by Google. It consists of three main components: Nest Guard, Nest Tag, and Nest Detect. Nest Guard acts as the central hub, featuring a motion sensor and keypad for arming and disarming the system. It includes a battery backup to ensure continuous operation during power outages. Nest Tag is a key fob that allows users to arm or disarm the system with a simple tap, eliminating the need for passcodes. Nest Detect is a versatile sensor that can monitor both motion and door/window status, allowing users to open doors or windows without triggering the alarm when the system is armed. The system offers multiple security levels, including home, away, and off modes, which can be controlled via the Nest app or directly on Nest Guard. It provides alerts and notifications for security breaches, and users can integrate it with other Nest devices like cameras for enhanced monitoring. Although Nest Secure is no longer available for purchase, existing systems continue to function effectively. The system integrates well with smart home ecosystems, especially Google Assistant, offering voice control and automation capabilities.
