Nicolás Maduro

Nicolás Maduro is the current President of Venezuela, having taken office in 2013. Born in 1962, Maduro rose through the ranks of the political party founded by Hugo Chávez, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). Prior to his presidency, Maduro served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice President of Venezuela under Chávez.
