Niki Lauda

Niki Lauda was a renowned Austrian racing driver and entrepreneur, born on February 22, 1949. He is celebrated for his exceptional career in Formula One, where he won three World Drivers' Championships in 1975, 1977, and 1984. Lauda's determination and resilience were highlighted by his remarkable comeback after a severe crash at the Nürburgring in 1976, where he suffered severe burns and lung damage. Lauda drove for several top teams, including Ferrari and McLaren, and was known for his analytical approach to racing. Beyond his racing career, he was a successful aviation entrepreneur, founding and managing several airlines. Lauda also held managerial roles in Formula One, serving as an advisor for Ferrari and team principal of Jaguar. He was non-executive chairman of Mercedes until his death on May 20, 2019.
