Noah Hawley is a versatile American screenwriter, director, producer, author, and singer. Born in 1967 in New York City, he comes from a family of writers—his mother was a non-fiction author, and his grandmother a playwright. Hawley studied political science at Sarah Lawrence College and initially worked for the Legal Aid Society and in legal and computer programming roles. He transitioned to writing, publishing his first novel, A Conspiracy of Tall Men, in 1998. Hawley is best known for creating and writing the critically acclaimed FX series Fargo and Legion. His work on Fargo earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries. He has also written and directed films like Lucy in the Sky and is set to helm Alien: Earth. Hawley's storytelling is praised for its cinematic and character-driven narratives. He has published six novels and contributed to soundtracks with his singing. His career spans over two decades, marked by numerous awards and a reputation as a masterful storyteller in both television and literature.
