Nolan Ryan, born on January 31, 1947, in Refugio, Texas, is widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. He began his career with the New York Mets before joining the California Angels, where he started setting records. Ryan is known for his exceptional fastball, which consistently reached speeds over 100 mph throughout his career. He holds the record for the most career strikeouts with 5,714 and is the all-time leader in no-hitters with seven. Ryan's career spanned 27 seasons, playing for the Mets, Angels, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers. He was an eight-time All-Star and finished his career with a win-loss record of 324-292. Post-retirement, Ryan remained involved in baseball as the CEO of the Texas Rangers and an executive advisor to the Astros. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
