SuperyachtAbout
Octopus is a 126-meter megayacht built for Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Launched in 2003, it is one of the world's largest yachts, originally costing $200 million. The exterior was designed by Espen Øino Naval Architects and built by German shipbuilders Lürssen. It features eight decks, including a private owner's deck, accommodating up to 26 guests in 13 staterooms with a crew of 63. Octopus is equipped with a submarine, a pool, and multiple entertainment facilities such as a cinema, gym, and basketball court. It has two helicopter pads and seven tenders. The yacht has been used for scientific research and exploration missions. Its ice-class hull allows for polar exploration, offering unique experiences for charter guests. After Paul Allen's death, Octopus was sold to an anonymous buyer in 2021 and is now available for charter.
