About

Paula Pascual is the CEO and founder of Merge, a pioneering conference series that connects Europe and Latin America around Web3 and blockchain innovation. After five years working in Santander’s blockchain division in Madrid, she identified a significant gap: despite Latin America’s high crypto adoption rates, the region remained underrepresented at international blockchain events. This insight led her to establish Merge, which held its inaugural event in Madrid in October 2024 and quickly became a prominent platform for bridging these two dynamic markets. Under her leadership, Merge has grown into a major forum bringing together regulators, traditional financial institutions, crypto innovators, and startups from both continents to foster collaboration on decentralized technologies. Merge events emphasize not only business and technical discussions but also cultural exchange by integrating local experiences such as concerts and digital art exhibitions. The upcoming Buenos Aires edition (March 24–26, 2025) will highlight critical topics like decentralized finance (DeFi), digital identity, tokenization, cybersecurity, AI synergy with blockchain technology, and policies shaping the future of finance globally. Paula Pascual’s vision is to create an inclusive space that leads financial innovation agendas while facilitating dialogue between established institutions and emerging Web3 projects. Her role as CEO reflects her commitment to positioning Buenos Aires—and Latin America more broadly—as central players within the global blockchain ecosystem.
